The corrosive nature of acidic water causes metal ions such as iron, manganese, copper, lead and zinc to leach into the water, causing elevated levels of toxic metals in your water. ... It may also cause aesthetic problems, such as a metallic or sour taste.
The biggest health problem with acid water is related to copper pipes. Acid in water can dissolve some of the copper from the pipes, where it can be consumed in drinking water. While we all need a small amount of copper in our diets, long-term exposure to high amounts of copper in could cause serious health problems, including liver or kidney damage. Even short-term exposure can cause stomach problems, like nausea and vomiting.
Rust is oxidized iron. It can originate anywhere from a water main to your own plumbing. Tap water can turn reddish brown due to iron particles that break free from sediment inside corroded iron or steel pipes. Corroded pipes are common in North American cities, where some water systems are more than 100 years old.
Iron also occurs naturally in some drinking water sources. If the water is exposed to air before coming out of the tap, it, too, may be rusty or turn rusty after standing.
The biggest problem of sulfur in drinking water is that it stinks! Like other minerals, sulfur can leave stains in plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets. Clothing washed in water that is high in sulfur may also become stained. Water that contains as little as one part per million of hydrogen sulfide can tarnish copper and silver.
The bacteria that produce hydrogen sulfide gas produce slime, which can be white, gray or black. These sulfur bacteria can create conditions favorable to other bacteria, including iron bacteria, in which case you might see a reddish-brown slime. Any of those slimes will coat plumbing pipes, which will cause clogs and lead to corrosion.
Chlorine is the most common water treatment to kill bacteria living within it. Chlorine is added not only to swimming pools, but also is often found in tap water. According to Free Drinking Water.com, most cities within the U.S. treat the city water with chlorine concentrations of two to four parts per million; and they report the average person receives 50 percent of their chlorine exposure from bathing. Chlorinated water can have long-term effects on human skin.

I was shopping in the Fredericksburg, VA area for a water filtration system. I did the typical 3 bids before buying to make sure I was informed and educated before making a big decision on my families water. The first 2 better known companies came in and just pitched a price and did not seem interested in me or my family but I still went ahead with the third company and oh boy am I glad I did! Mr Jeff Booth (he insist we call him by first name, OK Jeff) was incredible! He took the time to talk to me, my husband and my 3 children, found out our needs and did a full demo on their product. I learned so much about my water (in terms we all understood) and was super impressed! His price was a little higher than the others but the Great always cost more! Our installation was a breeze and his head installer Lee was great! Jeff came back after the install to make sure everything was great and even tested our water to make sure of the clean water quality! He didn't need to even do that because I noticed the change almost immediately after the install. My hair is shiny, my skin is soft and my kids are asking to drink more water (OH YES!) Thank you Virginia Environmental Resources for being a class act and all you guys get an A++++ from us!

Had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Booth when I bought my water system. He was always polite and very professional. Prior to buying the water system Jonathan thoroughly explained how the system worked He did some tests on my current county water and let’s just say it wasn’t good. We got the system and it was installed within a few day. Let’s just say we LOVE our water system. We started seeing and feeling a difference in the water quality within a few day definitely wish would have done this sooner. Jonathan is also very easy to get a hold of if you have a question.
Would definitely recommend one of these water systems well worth the money!!!!

My wife had been struggling with skin issues for quite a long time. Tim recommended that we consider a Hague water system to try and relieve her symptoms. Admittedly I was a little skeptical but he came over to test our water. The amount of chlorine in our water was insanely high! not to mention the amount of minerals and sediments in our water were absolutely disgusting. I truly appreciate that there was no pressure on us at all to buy the system but based on what we saw in our water, it was a no-brainer. We have the whole-home system with a reverse osmosis system in our kitchen sink specifically for drinking water. The cost of the system is paid for by the bottled water we are no longer buying as well as the fact that we are not using as much detergents and soaps. Our whole family has noticed a remarkable difference in how our skin feels, my wife's skin reactions have been greatly reduced. There is no hard water in our showers or any of our fixtures. We are extremely happy with this system and the awesome service we received from the VA Environmental Resources team!
